Talk:Administrative incompetence

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I just read the charateristics of the bad boss. Are these traits "unchangeable" and should a bad boss just be "written off", or should a boss be confronted and given an opportunity to change? Anon.

Having just read the question above, It has convinced me to change the title from "Bad boss" to "Administrative incompetence". The reason is that the current title personifies the subject, leading people to think in term of individuals. The article should be about behaviours, actions that are dysfunctional. We all exhibit these traits to some extent, and to catagorize all people as either bad managers or good managers is simplistic and misleading. mydogategodshat 07:34, 10 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I'd prefer a title like "Management incompetence" so that the there is a relation to "Management effectiveness."User:ThseamonDec. 10, 2004
Yes that would be fine also. mydogategodshat 17:57, 12 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Scholarizing the Article

So any ideas how to make this more scholarly? I think we are in a bit of a jam, since that would entail citing peer-reviewed psychological, managerial, and organizational behavior journals and books.

The problem is that those of us in a situation with poison bosses know what we see and what we experience. We do not need to footnote out daily pain in order to validate our feelings.

There is something to say for common sense, day-to-day experience with bosses. After all, where did Socrates get his diploma? And was Moses peer-reviewed?
