[edit] nakhon changwat amphoe mueang
Sakon Nakhon is located in Sakon Nakhon Province (changwat), which according to Template:Amphoe Sakon Nakhon has a amphoe called Mueang Sakon Nakhon. If this is right, it could be added to the article, to describe how the terms can interact. Tobias Conradi (Talk) 18:21, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- I have re-arranged and fixed the article, as it now contained many misunderstandings, some of which I also got trapped before and needed long time to find the right way. The administrative subdivisions of Thailand is a rather complicate topic, including several changes during the time, and weakly covered in english sources.
- But yes, Nakhon can be part of a town name, and thus there is a Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima, literally "district town city Ratchasima". I hope the article now explains that more clearly. andy 21:45, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sakha Tambon
Another historic subdivision not yet mentioned are the Sakha Tambon (สาขาตำบล), which seem to have existed till 2002. Anyone have any info on them - there extremely few google hits of that term. andy 22:02, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
