Admiral Komack, played by Byron Morrow, is a Starfleet officer who appears in the original Star Trek episode "Amok Time" and is mentioned in "This Side of Paradise". He is the first admiral to appear in Star Trek.

In "Amok Time", Komack appears on a viewscreen to deny Captain James T. Kirk's request to divert to Vulcan. He is mentioned at the end of the episode as giving Kirk permission to take the USS Enterprise there after Kirk has already done so. Komack orders colonists evacuated from a starbase in "This Side of Paradise".

Only two other admirals appear in the original Star Trek; in most other episodes that include a superior officer to Kirk, the character is usually a commodore.
