Adeccoligaen
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Adeccoligaen is the second highest division of the Norwegian professional football league. Before 2005 the name was simply "1. divisjon" (1st division), but it changed when Adecco became the main sponsor. Two teams are directly promoted from Adeccoligaen to Tippeligaen while the team in 3rd place plays two qualification matches against the 3rd last team in Tippeligaen. The winner after two matches will play in Tippeligaen the next year. The four last teams are relegated to "2. divisjon". There are 16 teams in Adeccoligaen.
