From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Adélaïde-Gillette Dufrénoy (1765–1825), (born Adélaïde-Gillette Billet), was a French painter and poet. Among her works were the poems L'amour, Sur la mort de Florian and a children's book of mythology.
She was born in Paris, and married Simon Petit-Dufrenoy, a prosecutor from Châtelet. She was also the mother of Ours-Pierre-Armand Petit-Dufrénoy. Her husband Simon later suffered from blindness, and their family relied on her meager income as a result of this misfortune.
