Acute is an indie pop band from Los Angeles, California. They formed in 2005, and have released one EP, Selections, in 2006. Their forthcoming full-length album, Arms Around A Stranger, will be released on May 1st. It was recorded and engineered by Dave Trumfio, who has worked with Wilco and My Morning Jacket.

Acute frontman Isaac Lekach previously wrote songs under the Poulain moniker, enlisting Andy LeMaster and Clay Leverett of Now It’s Overhead to play on his For Passengers EP, which was released on Fiddler Records in 2005. For the first Poulain tour, drummer Patrick Edwards of Ozma and bassist Colt Maloney were recruited. After Isaac and Patrick's prior projects disbanded, Acute was formed.
