(Thanks for correcting my horrible edition started by myself "User: Mercenary". Especially subject-verb agreement error is really embarassing.) Anyway why such generic term is NOT indexed in online dictionaries? Inscrutable.

The carboxyl group of acrylic acid can react with ammonia to form acrylamide, or with an alcohol to form an acrylate ester.

These aren't really reactions that happen to the C=O double bond of an acryl group, are they? They seem to be ways to form acrylic compounds in the first place. Also, do the acrylates technically have acryl groups? AxelBoldt 15:36, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
