[edit] Talk page template

This template fairly clearly falls into the "mainly for editors" category, and it thus belongs on the talk page. - SimonP 00:32, July 10, 2005 (UTC)

I have also adapted this template to the new Wikipedia:Template standardisation format. - SimonP 00:50, July 10, 2005 (UTC)

Readers are of course also invited to vote. The template routinely goes on the article page. There is a discussion whether the policy should be changed at going on right now at the village pump.--Fenice 08:43, 10 July 2005 (UTC)

Fenice, this is excellent. Keep up the great work you're doing on Idrive.—Encephalon | ζ | Σ 18:15:08, 2005-08-10 (UTC)

[edit] Link Problem

There is a problem with the link on this template for "this page's entry". The text only goes

[[Category:AID candidates|{{PAGENAME}}]]

but the WP:AID page's candidates all have sections called "PageName (# votes, stays until Month #)", so the link doesn't work; it only takes you to the top of the AID page, not the specific section.

I noticed this as well. I changed the heading formats at WP:AID, but I guess that upset their bot or something, so they switched it back. Thus I have removed the broken link. I view this as a less than optimal solution. See discussion at Wikipedia talk:Article Improvement Drive. -lethe talk + 16:29, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Template standardization

Why is there such resistance to standardizing this template? Virtually every other discussion template uses the style recommended at Wikipedia:Template standardisation. This template sticks out like a sore thumb:

Are you suggesting increasing simply the width, or are you proposing greater changes? -- Ec5618 11:09, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
The width was the most noticable difference. Kaldari 15:46, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Misuse in Main article space.

I have noticed this template occasionally gets added to the Main namespace rather than being added to the talk page. I have updated the code so if it does get misplaced a large red warning is displayed and the article in question gets added to Category:Misplaced Templates GameKeeper 20:44, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
