Hi there. I suggest you have a quick read through the Export Controls section of the Cryptography page as well as the associated main article Export of cryptography. The notice on the PuTTY page is related to export of cryptography technologies which were strictly controlled until fairly recently (from the US at least). --TheParanoidOne 20:33, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
