Aces of the Pacific is a computer game flight simulator developed by Dynamix in 1992. The game takes place during World War II. Player can choose single or instant mission, or choose to take a career path in United States Army Air Forces, United States Navy, United States Marines, Imperial Japanese Army or Imperial Japanese Navy. The game featured various warplanes of the era, such as P-51 Mustang or Zero.
In the expansion pack, an alternate history takes place in which atomic bombs were never used on Japan. The allied powers invaded Japan conventionally instead. Prototype warplanes, as well as aircraft used during the Korean war (the P-80 Shooting Star) are added.
The game included Historical missions, should the player choose to play them as single missions, or during their career when they progressed in timeline. Historical missions included Battle of Midway, Battle of Leyte Gulf or flying as flight leader in the mission where former US president George H. W. Bush was shot down by Japanese anti-aircraft battery.
