ACE FINCHUM
As his band's name suggests, Ace Finchum and Steevi Jaimz are the two founding members of the European Glam Rock band The Steevi Jaimz Band feat. Ace Finchum,[1].. Ace Finchum is a friend of Steevi Jaimz who, in the mid-1980's, was lead vocalist for the Cardiff-based band, Tigertailz. At his suggestion, American-born Ace Finchum was hired as the band's drummer.
However, irreconcilable differences within the band led to Steevi's departure, whereupon he embarked on a solo career. Ace Finchum continued in Tigertailz for a few years until he was allegedly alienated from the band's studio-sessions; studio time was booked, but without Ace's knowledge. This led to Ace's departure, after which the band changed their name to Wazbones! and disappeared into obscurity for many years.
Since then, 1980's Glam Rock has undergone a revival in certain parts of Europe. With Ace Finchum once again available to play drums, Steevi and Ace have taken the opportunity to rekindle the magic of the early Tigertailz recordings, whilst also looking to the future. Their former bandmates opting not to participate, Steevi Jaimz and Ace Finchum had joined forces with guitarist Greg Karnage and bassist Darayuz Kaye to form the group Steevi Jaimz Tigertailz.
However, Wazbones has resurfaced using the Tigertailz name once more. The abandonment of this name was announced in 1995 by Wazbones bassist Pepsi Tate on the television program "Raw Power", also known as "Noisy Mothers". Steevi had asked all the original members to regroup as Tigertailz to promote the release of Original Sin after he alone was contacted by the album's promoter, but only Ace Finchum agreed.
Despite the years Steevi and Ace put into rebuilding the Tigertailz name and audience, a court ruling made in 2006 found in favour of the Kim Hooker fronted band and Steevi was forced to stop using the Tigertailz name, temporarily adopting the stop-gap name Steevi Jaimz Tigertailz.
[edit] The Future
Returning to the name The Steevi Jaimz Band with the sidebar featuring Ace Finchum to alert Tigertailz fans to the fact that that they are continuing to perform together, Steevi and Ace have teamed with "Trashy" Benzi Gabor, Vic Zino, and Joacim (the bassist from Swedish band Bai Bang) to form a new group. Capitalising on the successful demos of recent years, this new line-up is dedicated to continuing in the Glam Rock vein, with new songs and performances constantly in the works.
