[edit] The commons to wikipedia
How do i import a picture from the commons to wikipedia, like Image:91118 'Bradford Film Festival' at Peterborough.JPG has been? Many thanks ACBestMy Contributions 17:48, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- You can just link an image as if you would in Wikipedia - e.g [[Image:Smile.png|200px|right|thumb]] , but you can change the sieze etc but you can just link them from commons. That should help - Tellyaddict 17:59, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
sound like im stupid, but how do you link from the commons? thanks ACBestMy Contributions 18:02, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
- I just told you above, please do not just place {{helpme}} for the sake of it, it alerts IRC users and categorises you into Category:Wikipedians looking for help and causes confusion, please leave a note on my talk page with any more problems,Tellyaddict 18:07, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Edit Summary usage
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Tellyaddict 11:42, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
