My name is Dan, and I'm a Wikiholic ("hi Dan").

I do mostly maintenance work on articles here: removing vandalism, linkspam, and other miscellaneous cleanup-type tasks. I find that tooling around WP is a great way to relax after a long day at work.

I believe that disputes between reasonable people can be worked out, well, reasonably with open and calm discussion. If you have a problem with any of my reverts or edits, take it up on my talk page. I'll be happy to explain my reasoning for any edits I make.

I spend most of my time lately removing link and other spam as I run across it. I also spend a significant amount of time patrolling the new pages log.

The former has, unfortunately, had the side-effect of drawing a lot of heat on my Talk page. I guess some people just take it too personally when I remove their link. However, (without doing an exact count) I believe only 3 or 4 neutral 3rd parties have disagreed with one of my link removals, so I think overall I'm doing right by Wikipedia.

I hope any visitors to my userpage and talk page can see through the angry comments and understand my purpose here, which has been overwhelmingly to help keep the cruft out of this great project. If you agree or or even if you disagree, let me know on my talk page.
