Bay Ridge Christian College is a historically black, residential, two-year Christian junior college located in Kendleton, Texas. It is affiliated with the Church of God.

The mission of Bay Ridge Christian College is "to challenge, educate, equip, and empower students in a Christ-centered environment to be effective and responsible stewards and servant-leaders in their churches, careers, families and communities modeling exemplary excellence in character, values and integrity." ^[1]

The college was founded in 1953 by Dr. Horace Germany to prepare African-American leadership for both urban and rural churches and the communities they serve.

After several years of operating the college in Mississippi, he moved the college to Kendleton, Texas because of the turbulent racial strife and conditions of the time in Mississippi.

Today, the institution serves a multicultural population.

Bay Ridge is a two-year junior college that provides an alternative college experience for students who may not be prepared to attend a four-year college or university.

Students who complete our program may transfer to four-year universities or colleges to pursue their bachelor’s degree.

Currently, the college does not hold accreditation, but is seeking degree-granting authority and accreditation with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
