I am creating this page to preserve space at the main Abraham Lincoln page, which has grown far too long. I think this action is appropriate, given that the exhumation section of the old page deals with Lincoln after his life ended, as opposed to Lincoln as an animate human being. As such, the events described actually involve people other than Lincoln, as opposed to Lincoln himself. Additionally, the section is very long and contentious. Putting it here will allow for fuller discussion of the issue.

So, did Cashman view Lincoln's body or not? First is says that he was "another youth present", then in the last paragraph says he never was (the word "admitted" makes it sould like a hoax was exposed). Is there a consensus about whether he was there or not? Also note that some of the Cashman sentences are copied word-for-word from this site (which says he was the last person to see Lincoln). --JW1805 (Talk) 04:09, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

This article (and/or the main Lincoln article) needs more details, such as dates, about the lying in state and funeral at the White House, the train trip to Illinois, and the three burials there (public receiving vault, temporary tomb, permanent tomb).
