Abraham Mar Thoma

His Grace the Late Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Mar Thoma Metropolitan was an Indian Bishop and the president of the Mar Thoma Evangelistic Mission and the National Missionary Society.
He was consecrated a bishop in 1917 and spent much of his life focusing on evangelical work. He was installed as Mar Thoma Metropolitan when Titus II died in 1944. He was born to a Orthodox family and he was a devoted Orthodox Christian until his father died and he learned about the Mar Thoma Church.
In 1942 he established the Mar Thoma Voluntary Evangelists Association. He died in 1947.
