Aboriginal Voices is a Canadian radio network. It airs programming produced by and for Aboriginal people in Canada. It features music and personalities from around the world.
The network was founded in 1998 by a group that included actor Gary Farmer and filmmaker Alanis Obomsawin. Its first station, CFIE in Toronto, was licensed by the CRTC in 2000. CFIE changed its callsign to CKAV in 2006.
The network's corporate sponsor is Newcap Broadcasting.
To date, the network has faced technical and logistical problems which have prevented it from launching many of the licensed stations listed below. For some of the stations, the network has applied to the CRTC for extensions five or six times as of the end of 2005.
The location of this station on the radio dial in Vancouver has seen much controversy, as it (106.3) interferes with nearby KWPZ at 106.5 FM.
