[edit] Confirmed theory?
Where has it been confirmed about Aberforth being that bartender? Please tell us where you heard that. Aris Katsaris 15:11, 15 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Nevermind. Saw it. Aris Katsaris 15:36, 17 Aug 2004 (UTC)

- Is it on Rowling's website? I haven't seen it... Mukkakukaku | Talk 24 May 2005

[edit] B-Article?
Harry Potter WikiProject has this rated as B. I'm not seeing it. I think this is only just worth a start article. If anyone disagrees, feel free to change back Cream147 18:35, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

- Rowling's web site addresses added "en" (english) folder (as well as other languages) so old links need to add the "en" after "textonly". The updated link is http://www.jkrowling.com/textonly/en/news_view.cfm?id=80 [1] . You have to scroll down almost halfway - or just search for Aberforth -- T-dot 10:16, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks, I'll fix the link within the article. Agent0042 20:28, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Brief appearances don't need to be mentioned ?
When *all* the appearances of a character are brief, I'd say it'd be good if some of them were indeed mentioned -- or we would have no article at all. Not to mention that this particular appearance is important as it's another small hint to the connection of the Hog's Head bartender with Albus Dumbledore -- "Unnecessary detail" seems to me to be a lame reason: On my part, I even debated inserting mention of the scene where we see Aberforth with Mundungus Fletcher. Aris Katsaris 04:24, July 26, 2005 (UTC)
- You have a point. For a minor character, minor appearances may be all that is mentioned. --Deathphoenix 12:03, 26 July 2005 (UTC)

- I think that Albuses comment to Riddle deserves to be in the article. After all, it probably does refer to him. He is the barman of the Hogs Head - the pub where the Death Eaters are. As said above, he is a minor character, and even a tiny bit of a thing like this is worth noting. --βjweþþ (talk) 13:11, 27 July 2005 (UTC)

- "... friendly with the barmen." Perhaps he's referring to Aberforth, or perhaps he's just being metaphorical. I don't think Albus is specifically referring to his brother, but what you or I think is irrelevant: it's not explicitly stated who he's talking about, so therefore stating that Albus is referring to Aberforth is speculation, IMO. --Deathphoenix 15:34, 27 July 2005 (UTC)

- So don't say he is referring to Aberforth. Aberforth certainly is one of the barmen, and Dumbledore does use barmen in general to obtain information. So this is worth including to demonstrate what relevance aberforth has, as at least one of a set of informants. One can imagine any number of possible relationships within the local club of barmen, or that Dumbledore is being euphemistic and might specifically mean his brother even though he says 'men'. State the facts and let the reader decide. Sandpiper 16:32, 2 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Where does Sirius say that?
where did sirius say that "Mundungus has a life time ban from the Hog's Head for offending Aberforth and that Aberforth has a long memory."???
- Sirius says he has a long memory in Order of the Phoenix, when he is talking to Harry in the fireplace of the Gryffindor Common Room right after Harry, Ron, Hermione and others had a meeting in the Hog's Head and Mundungus was in disguise there.
[edit] Seventh Book
She said that there's a member of the Order that we already know, that we'll get to know better, I'm betting that it's Aberforth.
Probably, yes. I've also heard (although I'm not sure it's true) that we will be told more about Dumbledore's past. Who can tell us better than his own brother? Ajox 14:53, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
