Aberdeen Angus Steak Houses
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Aberdeen Angus Steak Houses trading as either Angus Steak Houses or Aberdeen Steak Houses are a chain of steak houses trading in the West End of London.
In 2002 the chain went in to receivership resulting in several restaurants being sold off, now around 20 still exist in prime West End London locations.
The chain is somewhat notorious with Londoners as a tourist trap, occupying prime locations but serving poor-quality food. Aberdeen Angus Steak Houses are generally negatively received by critics who believe they have a poor quality of service, food and a restaurant style which dates back to the 1970s. As Stuart Jeffries in the Guardian wrote "The Aberdeen Angus chain offers a timewarp British dining experience: rank wine, bad meat and vile veg."
Aberdeen Angus can also be found in other areas of the UK such as Brighton.
