The name Aberdeen originated in Aberdeen, Scotland. Gaelic scholars believe the name came from 'Aber' and 'da-aevin' meaning "the mouth of two rivers", literally means between (aber) the Dee and the Don. The river Dee and the river Don are the two rivers that the old city is built between.
