[edit] Baha'i Faith

Hello Abdullah, and thanks for your comment about the Baha'i Faith on my user page.

I agree with you that the Baha'i Faith can look similar to Islam at one level. This is because they are both divinely inspired and because the founders of the Baha'i Faith were mostly responding in their writings to Muslim mystics and clerics. Viewed this way, all the religions of God appear similar because they all promote the same spiritual values, including love, patience, generosity and so on.

At another level, the religions are different as they came for different stages of social evolution. Islam catered for the needs and social laws of the nation state, while the Baha'i Faith brings laws and standards for a global society.

But people become attached to their religions, believing that their religion can never be superceded by another, contrary to what is in their holy scriptures. However, the Baha'i Faith teaches that God loves humankind and will never stop sending his divine messengers, each of whom brings a more advanced message. This is similar to teachers in a school: subsequent teachers bring more advanced messages according to the needs and capabilities of the students. Likewise, the divine messengers of God are equally knowledgable and powerful, but they give their message according to the needs of the time.

I hope that this helps you in your search. --Occamy 19:34, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Love your userpage

Wow, I love your userpage. I'm trying to work on a friends list, would you like to be added to it? You seem like a great person. --S-man 23:32, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] To Abdullah Geelah

Hi there, Abdullah Geelah. Just dropped by to say 'hello'. You have a nice user page and I like many of the same things that you like. I too am a vegetarian, or working on being one, and care very much about the earth. I also support Islam and the unification of Islam. Please leave me a comment any time. I haven't gotten any real comments yet except for two welcomers. Whiskey Rebellion 00:51, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks for your comments

I enjoyed getting your comments on my page. And thanks for the messagebox on top of my page. Ordinarily I don't like it when other people make decisions for me but for some reason your addition to my page didn't bother me. I sense the friendliness and good will of it. I hope you have a refeshing holiday. Please let me know when you are back. Whiskey Rebellion 19:24, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] messagebox

No, Abdullah, I do like the messagebox. I told you I am happy with it and am not at all annoyed with you for leaving it. Most other people I would not have liked it. I'm glad that we have met on Wikipedia. You are not gone on holiday yet? Whiskey Rebellion 19:37, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] watching your userpage

I will look after your pages for any changes other than barnstars or awards of any kind. Is that what you want? Whiskey Rebellion 19:46, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks but you didn't leave a message

All I got was your signature. What is your message? Whiskey Rebellion 21:07, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Irish translation

Hi. If you give me the meaning of your surname in English, I'll do my best to translate it into Irish. Enjoy your holiday :-) Bastun 23:10, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Korean transliteration

Hello. I'm adding the Korean language translation/transliteration for your name. --Basawala 20:19, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Red Sea

If you read it more carefully you'll see that it says that it connects to the ocean through the Gulf of Aden (to which it is in turn connected by the Bab el Mandeb), not that the Gulf of Aden is a part of it. The two are distinct. Moreover, the official languages of Djibouti are Arabic and French, not Somali and Afar, and the part bordering the Red Sea (north of the Gulf of Tadjoura) is inhabited by Afar speakers, not Somalis (I just don't know how to say "Red sea" in Afar). — ዮም | (Yom) | TalkcontribsEthiopia 18:06, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Response

Why'd you archive so quickly? Anyway, Somali is probably spoken by a majority in Djibouti, but not in the part bordering the Red Sea. I can see adding both Somali and Amharic translations, but I'm worried that it may not be POV. How about you post it on the talk page and see what other users think. I don't have a big problem with it, I just think that it may be a bit misleading. Regarding your name, do you want it translated, or put in a different alphabet, or both? I can write "Abdullah Geelah" in the Ge'ez alphabet, or translate the name into Amharic and Tigrinya (probably for the latter, not certainly), and then put in the Ge'ez alphabet, or do both. I know "Abdullah" is "servant/slave of God," but what does "Geelah" mean? — ዮም | (Yom) | TalkcontribsEthiopia 18:37, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] French name

hey whats up abdullah, sorry to inform you but your name would be spelled jut like it's spelled in english. Abdullah Geelah and if geelah is an anglicized version of your arabic name then maybe it could be Guilah instead of Geelah. take care buddy, Abdelkweli 20:20, 19 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cuisine of Somalia

You have recently created an article "Cuisine of Somalia." It has been deleted, since its only text consisted of the words "cuisine of somalia." Wikipedia requires more information in its articles, even if it is only a few short sentences (that is, a stub). We would welcome an article about the cuisine of Somalia, but if you re-create the article, please be sure that it has some information (and that the information is verifiable). Hello, and thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia! Could you avoid posting personally identifying information on your user page, please? I've also removed the edit history from your page, so as to remove any such information from the logs. -- The Anome 01:21, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your comment on my talk page. I'm sorry if this is inconvenient. I removed the past revisions of this page because they contained personally identifying information -- please contact an adult if you do not understand why this should be necessary. I've only deleted the past revisions for this page, so the rest of your edit history should be intact, so the all edits that really count are still there. -- The Anome 13:09, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
