[edit] Thank you!

Thank you for translating my username to Arabic, Somali, and Pig Latin. I hence present the original WikiThanks image. :) --Cat out 13:42, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sub-page

To create a sub-page with your name in different languages, enter something like "User:Abdullah Geelah/My name in different languages" in the search box, click go and then click "Start the User:Abdullah Geelah/My name in different languages page". Then copy anything you want to that new page.

To add a link to it, just add a link the usual way: [[User:Abdullah Geelah/My name in different languages page]]. --Amir E. Aharoni 14:34, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Not sure!

Hi Cool Cat, I 've tried to translate cool cat into Arabic and I am working on it. I'm not sure about you going to Iran or Saudi Arabia because both countries are Islamic fundmentalist and I heard that they will not allow non-Muslim froeigners into thier countries, especially if you are either a Jew or form the State of Israel. --Abdullah Geelah 21:20, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Hello there, any attempt in translation is better than none. SO I welcome the attempt weather or not it suceeds. :)
I just feel countries I marked as "not sure to go" will ever be "safe" in the near future.
--Cat out 00:50, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi Cool Cat, I've translated your name to Somali as well, you asked me to put the Arabic Translation in the Latin Script but to be honest with it is REALLY difficult. Nice to see you around! P.S. Can you put the Thankyou Sunflower that you awarded me on my userpage in a bigger size, and then write a caption for why you gave it me! Please Abdullah Geelah 13:10, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
I've translated your name in Pig Latin as well!! Just letting you know! Abdullah Geelah 13:52, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
When people where translating your name, how did inform them to translate your name? because i want people to translate my name as well you can see it here, can you translate my name in what ever language you speak apart from the ones on that page. Abdullah Geelah 15:16, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
I didn't inform anyone in any way. People just stumbled upon the page or it is brought up by someone reading my userpage on an unrelated discussion (such as the list of anime). Admitively, I had pursued the japanese translation but I think that was the only exception.
I'd translate it to Turkish, but not certain how to translate a name to a different language. :)
--Cat out 15:29, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
So you're TURKISH AFTER ALL THEN!!!! Abdullah Geelah 16:05, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
I am only tr-3 and no I do not acknowlege being from any nationality. One doesn't have to be japanese in order to know/learn japanese.
BTW you may want to add a </font> at the end of your sig as it is currently broken I believe. :)

[edit] Gujarati translation

Hi Abdullah - I suggest you approach user:Aksi great or user:Srikeit coz I don't have Gujarati fonts to type out your name. Rama's arrow - this Fire burns always 17:20, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Other people I know who can help you out with Gujarati: user:Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington, user:Deeptrivia (on break), user:Hemanshu and maybe user:Bhadani. Hope I didn't miss anybody. Rama's arrow - this Fire burns always 17:46, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

Hey Abdullah! I am aware of what the name means... basicaly when i had a Muslim username everyone was very hurtful to me, and any contributions i made were undermined and deleted. So i decided to make a typical jewish account and now people respect and keep my changes... so much for NPOV!! lol Yahuddi 20:42, 29 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

Hello Abdullah. I feel very nice to meet you. I shall surely do. Regards. --Bhadani 11:38, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] reply

Hi Abdullah - looking at your editcount, I see that you have ~ 800 edits, close to 400 being to your own userspace. Userspace doesn't add anything to the encyclopedia. When users curious to learn of your contributions see this, they see you're not making any major contribution (even if you are).

You need to be more active across articles - that's the main field of work. Now if you have a book or special knowledge about something, use it to make one article an FA. That'll bring you to work with other people. Now its not your fault that Somalia-related topics are less frequented. Working on those subjects can be "lonely." But if you go for an FA, you'll get appreciation for your work.

You're young and enthusiastic, and that's good. But building this encyclopedia is mainly a lonely and thankless job. Users will come and go as their personal lives dictate. There are thousands who don't have barnstars that have done great work. Barnstars are a show that people across thousands of miles appreciate that you do, but the main purpose is to provide a limitless, reliable source of knowledge for all. Don't work for barnstars, work for knowledge. If you need any help with anything, lemme know. Rama's arrow 16:56, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

When you look at your work on Somalia topics, think not of other users but of the hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people who come looking for info on Somalia. WP is the top hit on Google, so it attracts a lot of traffic. Rama's arrow 17:49, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merhaba

Hello, this is Bahar from Turkey. I've seen your message and had even written a longer reply than this but it suddenly disappeared. I of course accept your request about translating your page into Turkish. By replying this message to 'E-mail this user' we may start the Turkish lessons. I wonder where your interest to the Turkish culture comes and by the way you're not the youngest in this Wikipedia, my birthday is on the 16th of January 1993. I think you're from Somalia, I had a project on Somalia in 3rd grade so I quite know about it. Bahar 30 June 2006

[edit] In other languages...

I've added Semaphore to the list. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 19:55, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
