Abdul Majeed bin Abdul Aziz

Abdul Majeed bin Abdul Aziz(1943-) is the Governor of Makkah, Islam's holiest city, and a half brother of Saudi King Abdullah. His early education was in the traditional schools of Riyadh followed by stints in the Royal Saudi Navy and collegiate study in the United Kingdom. Other government positions he has held include the Governorships of Tabuk (1980-1986) and Madinah (1986-2000).

Prince Abdul Majeed, who is among the younger sons of Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud, has two full brothers, Prince Badr and Prince Abdul Illah. He is considered a strong candidate, for the throne although he is 9th in Saudi Arabia's Line of Succession.
