Abberley

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Abberley is a picturesque village in the county of Worcestershire, England. It is situated between the river Severn and river Teme and has a population of around 750.

Abberley is split into two parts by farmland, the old and the new village. The old village houses two churches, St. Mary’s and St. Michael's and the local village pub, The Manor Arms. The new village is expanding more rapidly, with modern housing projects, and a Victorian primary school and a shop/post office. Close to the village is Abberley Clock Tower in the grounds of Abberley Hall private school.

The manor of Abberley was unusual in that it included a number of separate areas of land in other parishes, including the whole or parts of Astley, Rock and Bayton.
