Aaron Burckhard

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aaron Burckhard is an American drummer who played with Nirvana in 1987.

Burckhard played at Nirvana's very first live show at a 1987 house party in Raymond, Washington. He was not with the group, however, when they recorded their first demo at Reciprocal Recordings in Seattle on January 23, 1988, but he returned to the lineup for a brief period that spring before being replaced by Chad Channing. Burckhard's dismissal purportedly came as a result of his alcohol problem and aggressive nature which propelled him into frequent physical confrontations. An additional serious complaint against Burckhard was that he did not take his assignment with the band seriously and usually skipped practice. As a reminder of his time with the band, his drumming can be heard on the first five tracks of Nirvana's With the Lights Out.

After leaving Nirvana, Burckhard played with Attica, which released one album in 2005.[citation needed]
