[edit] Plot synopsis
During a nighttime training exercise on the rooftops of New York City, the Turtles are interrupted by two warring Avians, a race whose appearance resembles angels. The one with the metal wings, to the other's crystal headband and flies off. The other flier woke up in the Turtles' home which he recognized as an Y'Lyntian outpost. He then introduces himself as Raptarr. He was of the Avian race. He tells the Turtles the tale of how his people were slaves of the Y'Lyntians and were kept in a large floating cage so the Avians wouldn't befoul the Y'Lyntian utopia. One, day, the human tribes from elsewhere had enough of Y'Lyntius' rule and with the help all the slaves, Y'Lyntius sank beneath the ocean. The Avians were able free their cage and recovered fragments of the Crystal Sun, using its power to keep their new home as a city. However, as the years went by, many Avians believed they should rule over the surface, not hid from it. The leader of the resistance was lead by Raptarr's former friend, Mephos who started a civil war in the Avian city but ended up defeated. Mephos was then banished to the surface, stripped of his wings and Raptarr made sure he didn't return. Living among the surface people, Raptarr learned much. But now, Mephos is on his way to the Avian city which could only be detected by a crystal. Its crystal generator that keeps it afloat is a very dangerous weapon in the wrong hands. Donatello managed to remake the Tech Packs into flight gear and Raptarr manages to locate more crystals.
In the Avian city, Mephos meets up with the remainder of his loyal followers, who have taken care of any resistance. They storm the generator room and took a green key crystal from an elder, which controls the larger one. Mephos tests the city's power on a mountain and was about to attack Seattle when Raptarr and the Turtles interrupted. A fight broke out and Raptarr faced off with Mephos once more. Raptarr reveals to Mephos that he was just a distraction so the Turtles could grab the key. Mephos, angry that surface-dwellers are befouling the key by touching, he follows in the Turtles' passing around but ends up too close to the generator and ends up shocked. The criminal was put in jail this time and again, stripped of his wings. The Avians thank the Turtles for saving both their worlds and Mikey asks for a picture with Raptarr.
