"A transfer" is an episode of the anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Shinji begins school at Tokyo-3 and meets classmates Toji Suzuhara, Kensuke Aida, and Hikari Horaki. Toji is upset with Shinji because his sister was badly injured in Shinji’s first fight against an Angel. Another Angel appears, and Shinji must defeat it. Afterwards, Toji and Kensuke gain an understanding of Shinji's experience in the EVA, and befriend him.

- Shinji appears in his Eva pilot plugsuit for the first time.
- Shinji's school and classmates are introduced: Toji, Kensuke, and Hikari.
- If more than one person is in the entry plug of an Evangelion at the same time, it creates "thought noise"; essentially static interference between the mind of the pilot and the Eva.
- An Eva pilot can open their entry plug, and even allow other people inside, without external aide.
