A Rose Is Still A Rose is a 1998 album released by soul singer Aretha Franklin. The album was deemed a successful attempt to bring the legendary Franklin into 1990s urban adult contemporary R&B. The title track, in response; which was written and produced by Lauryn Hill of The Fugees, was Franklin's second Top 40 pop hit of the 1990s peaking at #26 on the chart. The album was successful enough to give Franklin her first platinum-certified album in over a decade.
