A Rogue's Tale is an episode in the animated TV series X-Men Animated Series.

[edit] Synopsis

This episode begins with Mystique visiting Mister Sinister. Sinister had told her that he had a gift for her, but one day he wants a repayment. He tells her that Professor Xavier is no longer with the X-Men. Sinister says without the Professor, the X-men can be easily defeated. He tells Mystique that if she defeats the X-men, she can reclaim her daughter.

Later Avalanche, Blob, and Pyro attack a carnival and start destroying the various stalls. Then the X-Men come to stop them. Rogue and Storm take on Blob, and Cyclops shoots Avalanche with his laser. Later Mystique disguises as someone and when Rogue sees her, she starts having a flashback, so the she is taken back to the X-Mansion. When Rogue wakes up, she says that since the Professor was gone, she started having some "lashes". She says that Professor had blocked out some of her memories. Then Jean Grey comes with the profile of the woman Rogue saw and says that it seems this woman wants to be found. When Rogue takes a look at the woman's picture, she again starts seeing quick flashbacks. Later Rogue starts seeing the woman's face in everybody and starts acting crazy. Later she doesn't remeber who the X-Men are. So, Jean probes her mind. Jean sees another presence in Rogue's body. Then Rogue runs off and Storm follows her. Rogue keeps seeing the woman's face and goes after her. The Woman's ghost says that "I'm inside the hospital, where you put me." Then Rogue lands on hospital's roof and goes inside. Then Mystique poses as Rogue on the hospital roof, and when Storm comes there Mystique tricks her and sprays her with sleeping gas. Then Mystique becomes Storm and calls all the X-Men to the hospital. At the hospital the woman that Rogue keeps seeing is in a coma. When Wolverine, Gambit, and Cyclops get to the hospital, Brotherhood of Mutants attacks them. The Brotherhood keeps the X-Men busy while Mystique goes in the hospital. After some battle with the Brotherhood of Mutants and X-Men, Storm wakes up and creates a tornado, which sucks up all the Brotherhood and sends them crashing in a roof. Then they go in the hospital to stop Mystique. Then Mystique brings Rogue to the room where the woman is. Then Rogue tells Mystique why she brought her here, then Mystique asks her to touch her. When Rogue touches Mystique, she remembers her past.

She remembers that she had run away from home and Mystique had helped her control her power and taught her how to use them. Then she remembers a part about an encounter with Ms. Marvel when she and the Brotherhood were stealing a fighter plane. Rogue had flew off with the plane and Ms. Marvel followed her. Then Ms. Marvel breaks the top of the plane and gotten in the plane. When Ms. Marvel was trying to land the plane, Mystique had told Rogue to grab on to Ms. Marvel no mater what. When Rogue finally let go of Ms. Marvel she had absorbed all of her powers and abilities, and all of her memories and she had put Ms. Marvel in a coma. Later she had started seeing Ms. Marvel because her whole mind was inside Rogue. So Rogue had started going crazy. Then she had left Mystique, and Professor X called out to her and helped her by blocking all of her memories about Ms. Marvel. Professor had said that he can't return Ms. marvel to her body, but he can block her.

Then Rogue's flashback stops. Then Ms. Marvel starts taking over Rogue's body and grabs Mystique and flies off. Then Jean uses Cerebro and goes inside Rogue's mind. In Rogue's mind, Ms. Marvel grabs Jean, but Rogue stops her, and Rogue and Ms. Marvel start fighting. The Ms. Marvel fights with Rogue, and says that "When I defeat you, your mind and body will be mine." Then Jean creates a cage in Rogue's mind and Rouge locks her up. Then Rogue returns to normal. The the X-Men go back to the mansion and this episode ends.
