A Passage in Time is a compilation originally released only in North America by Australian band Dead Can Dance in October 21, 1991. As the title suggests it was "a passage in time" to let the American audience catch up with the band's previous albums, via selected songs; curiously, tracks from the first album are not included on this release. However, two new tracks, "Bird" and "Spirit", were recorded for the album.
The album was later remastered and given a global release in 1998.
