[edit] Synopsis

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Paige is haunted by guilt about her parents' tragic death and blames it on her rebellious youth, so Leo takes her back in time to relive the events leading up to the car accident in order to find out what really happened. Meanwhile, Phoebe and Cole experience a haunting of their own when outlaw ghosts from the 1950s possess their bodies and head to the chapel to get hitched.

[edit] Book of Shadows

[edit] Enemies

  • Ghosts: neutral spirits of the formally living who return to the living world for their own various reasons.
  • Frankie & Lulu: Malevolant ghosts who were gunned down for robbing stores in the 50's. In this episode, They each possess Cole and Phoebe so they can finish their unfinished business of getting married, robbing a jewellery story on the way (for an engagement ring). Piper eventually called Clyde to take them back to the afterlife.

[edit] Allies

  • Clyde: a neutral ghost that takes people back in time to visit their past.

[edit] Spells

  • None used.

[edit] Trivia

  • The episode title is a play on words to the phrase "taking a page from the past," which means using a past example to influence the present.
  • When Leo yells the line "Get your butt down here, you fetid worm from the bog of eternal stench!" it is in reference to the movie "Labyrinth," in which there was a place called the Bog of Eternal Stench, and anyone who touched the bog would reek forever.
  • We get to see Paige's adoptive parents and also learn that Paige could orb as a teenager (this is reflexive; she later learns to control it), which is what saved her from the car crash that killed her adoptive parents.
  • We learn that Paige was admitted into Berkeley by writing an essay about her parents' death and due to high test scores.
  • When we see Paige's 1994 bedroom, she has what appears to be a Bride of Chucky doll. The movie Bride of Chucky wasn't released until 1998, four years later. She also has two Metallica posters made after 1994: one from 1996 and the other from 1998..
  • Phoebe agrees to marry Cole in this episode after almost marrying him while possessed by deranged spirits.
  • Lulu got into Phoebe through her chest. However, Frankie got into Cole through his stomach.
  • This is the only episode with "Paige" in the title. There is one episode with "Prue" in it, two with "Piper", four with "Phoebe", three with "Leo", one with "Wyatt", one with "Chris" and one with "Cole".
  • When Paige is trying to leave the classroom, she turns to tell the teacher that she is not staying. She has no braces, which she clearly had before when she was sitting at her desk and after, in front of the security guard.
  • This episode is when we find out that Paige was very similar to Phoebe in high school, with both of them partaking in excessive partying, disobeying their guardians, etc.
  • When Paige goes back to 1994, she tells her parents that she is just lost and one day she will find herself. In later episodes she is still trying to find herself, but now to find a balance between her normal and witch life, leading her to soul searching.
  • Paige tells her sisters that the day her adoptive parents died she told them they're weren't her real parents. However, when Paige goes back in to the day of their death, her mother says "So now I'm 'Mom'. Last night we weren't even your real parents." Meaning Paige said that to them the night before their death.

[edit] International titles

  • French: Mauvais esprits
  • German: Geister der Vergangenheit (Ghosts of the past)
  • Spanish: Una Paige del pasado
