Village in Distress: A New A-Ranked Mission! (Japanese: 待ってました！Aランク任務だってばよ！！ - Matte mashita! A-ranku ninmu dattebayo!!) is episode 69 of the anime series Naruto. The episode's storyline is from the Invasion of Konoha manga arc.

Knowing that Sasuke is in over his head, Kakashi sends Naruto, Sakura, and Shikamaru, and the summon dog, Pakkun, to stop Sasuke from pursuing Gaara, as the village is under attack (this team will be hereafter referred to as "Team 7").
Sakura wakes up Naruto, then realizes that Shikamaru has been awake the whole time. She quickly gets the team moving and explains on the way. Meanwhile, Shino has also been awake and quietly listening the whole time. As soon as the revamped Team 7 leaves, he follows them.
On top of the exam stadium, Orochimaru and the Third Hokage are gearing up for an unprecedented battle royale. The Hokage opens with Roof Tile Shuriken, and Orochimaru responds with Hidden Snake Hands. He seems to have gotten a bite on the Hokage, but it was actually just an Earth Clone. The Hokage counterattacks with Earth Release: Earth Flow River, then adds Earth Release: Earth Dragon Bullet and Fire Release: Fire Dragon Flame Missile to the attack. Orochimaru is seemingly burned alive and swept away on a tide of mud, but the Hokage is not so easily fooled. He tells Orochimaru to quit acting, and sure enough, the Snake Sannin arises, unharmed. The two exchange insults while they get ready for Round Two.
At the Ninja Academy, the students are in Study Time. Konohamaru is bored, and worried; he has a feeling that something bad is happening. Back at the stadium, Gai and Kakashi confront Kabuto who was disguised as an ANBU and a large group of Sound ninjas. Kabuto is concerned about the team that went after Sasuke, especially Naruto. Speaking of whom, Sasuke is moving fast, trying to catch up with Gaara. Showing off quite keen tracking abilites.
Meanwhile, back at the Ninja Academy, the teachers discuss the situation. They agree to evacuate the students, calling it a drill to prevent panic.
Orochimaru and the Hokage stare each other down, then get ready to rumble. They discard their robes and reveal their combat outfits; Orochimaru is in his Sound Village outfit, and the Hokage is wearing a black ninja uniform. They both generate massive amounts of chakra. Orochimaru says that he's not going to go easy on the Hokage, who responds that he may make Orochimaru repeat his Academy classes, based on his performance.
The Hokage attacks with Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique (Aka. Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu--English dub), while Orochimaru performs Summoning: Impure World Resurrection (Aka. Summoning Jutsu: Reanimation--English dub). Two coffins emerge from the rooftop, and the Hokage has to act fast to prevent a third from joining them.The Hokage is quoted as thinking "I must stop the third at any cost!" Perhaps indicating the power of the third summon. Since Orochimaru has resurrected the First and Second Hokages to fight by his side, the Hokage realizes how intense the battle is about to become. At the Ninja Academy, the evacuation is going smoothly, even as Konohamaru's suspicions grow larger. He can read the tension and worry on Iruka-sensei's face.
On top of the exam stadium, the zombie-Hokages realize their situation and apologize to the Third Hokage, explaining that they have no choice but to fight as Orochimaru commands. The Third Hokage is outraged by Orochimaru's disrespect for the dead, and says that "nothing good comes out of trifling with time".
Team 7 is moving along at a good clip. Naruto is naturally excited by an important, dangerous mission. Shikamaru complains that it's "troublesome", and Sakura gives him a verbal smackdown. Meanwhile, a team of nine Sound ninjas goes after them. The episode ends.

- The last coffin that Orochimaru tried to summon probably contained the Fourth Hokage. This possibility is more clearly explained in the manga.
- As Naruto looks over the crowd there is a man with a symbol very much like Naruto's own on his Shirt sitting next to a woman with pale pink hair.
