A Man on Death Row is the seventh episode of the FOX Network drama Bones. It originally aired on November 22, 2005.
[edit] Synopsis
A death row inmate gets a new defense lawyer, who uses her acquaintance with Booth to reopen the case. Booth, who was the investigating officer in the case, asks Bones to take a look at the forensics with as little as 30 hrs to execution. Based on some new evidence that comes to light, the body is exhumed that leads to the actual crime scene: a marsh. Everyone by now have doubts about the guilt of the inmate but the judge rules that the evidence is insufficient to postpone the execution.
The FBI team discover more bodies in the marsh, which convinces Booth that they had the right guy all along. The convict, who turns out to be this outrageously smart and well read man, has manipulated his defense lawyer, Booth and Bones to discover the remains of his other victims to prolong his life. He also hints that he may live long enough to see death penalty being abolished.
[edit] Forensic analysis
Zack deciphers what appears to a phone number that cannot be traced, is actually the time, gate number and parking lot number written together when he visits the crime scene.
The marsh is located as the original crime scene based on the pollens found in the victims fractured skull that is endemic to the marsh.
