A King in New York is a 1957 film directed by and starring Charlie Chaplin in his last starring role, which presents a satirical view of certain aspects of United States politics and society. The film was produced in Europe after Chaplin's exile from the US in 1952. It did not open in the United States until the early 1970's.

Due to a revolution in his country, King Shahdov comes to New York City with almost no money. To get some money, he reluctantly goes to TV, making commercials and meets a child from communist parents. Due to this, he is suddenly suspected as a communist himself and has to face one of McCarthy's hearings.The film ends after King Igor Shahdov (Charlie Chaplin) bids farewell to Rupert Macabee (Michael Chaplin) and flies away from New York to return to Europe.
