[edit] Album information

"A Girl Like Me" is the follow up to Rihanna's 2005 album "Music of the Sun" Rihanna has stated that while she did not wish to incorporate more rock music into her album, she did wish to create one song of mixed rock and reggae, called "Kisses Don't Lie"[1]. R&B artist Ne-Yo contributed writing to the album also, including the song "Unfaithful", which is the second single of the album. Rihanna said in an interview with Carson Daly that much of the music she sang on this album is music she would never have sung before.[citation needed] The album also features an original song called "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," not to be confused with the song by Queen. Her third single, "We Ride" hit radio on August 21 but wasn't nearly as successful as the previous two singles, not charting within the Billboard Hot 100 (but peaking at number 6 in the Bubbling Under Chart), while "SOS" topped the Billboard Hot 100 and "Unfaithful" peaked at number 6.

The album debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 with over 115,000 copies sold in its first week, nearly twice the debut sales of Music of the Sun. It debuted at number four on the UK Album Chart with 24,000 copies sold that week. The album sold 200,000 copies worldwide in its first week of release, and has shipped over 5 million copies worldwide. To date, the worldwide sales total is 3.5 million.

Her fourth single off the album is "Break It Off", featuring Sean Paul, the single has so far peak at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 making it her fourth top 10 single.

Singles include the #1 single "SOS", the top ten singles "Unfaithful" and "Break it Off, the number 1 club single "We Ride".
