Revelations: The Demon Slayer (女神転生外伝 ラストバイブル- "Megami Tensei Gaiden: Last Bible") was published and developed by Atlus and is part of the Megami Tensei series. It never came out in Europe or Australia. In the U.S., it was released on the Game Boy Color. The fighting is in a very traditional RPG style, not unlike in Dragon Quest games. Several biblical allusions exist in this game. The game seems to not have had much mainstream success.

[edit] Story

Revelations: The Demon Slayer is a side-game (gaiden) of the Megami Tensei universe. The humans in this game can call on the power of Gaia. The main hero, El, learns the art of Gaia and must save the world from an evil Gaia master, assisted by his friends Kishe and Uranus.

[edit] Gameplay

This game uses very basic RPG fighting mechanics, with turn-based battles with experience points and gold awarded at the end of each. Also, similar to Pokémon, monsters can be asked to join the main party, but unlike Pokémon, the monsters fight alongside the three main adventurers. The monsters are also much less cute, and more along the lines of Final Fantasy type enemies. To capture the monster, the player answers yes or no questions, and depending on the personality of the monster, it will join the party. Monsters can be combined to, usually, create stronger monsters.

[edit] Setting

The world in which this game takes place is a fairly cliché RPG world: this world is one of mostly medieval towns with a subtle hint of technology here and there with exotic topography. This is unlike the other Megami games, which are set in modern or a futuristic Japan.
