A Different Kind of Pain is the fourth album by Cold. It was released on August 30, 2005 in the USA and September 12, 2005 in the UK. The working title for the album was The Calm That Killed the Storm. It received mixed reviews, with some saying it is the best Cold album to date, but with others saying that Cold has strayed too far from their roots. The Title Track and Album name comes from the struggle that one of the band members' sisters that has cancer is going through.
