[edit] License tagging for Image:Truro45 river.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Truro45 river.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:09, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Please don't use the St Mary's image
Can 'A Cornish Pasty' tell me if he has taken this particular image from my website at Notes relating to the Dominican Friary and St Mary's Church, Truro as I'm fairly certain that it is due to the mild foxing top right of the image and to the fact that the image was uploaded to Wikipedia at 17:53 on Feb 3rd, and the page on my website was accessed at 17:47 on Feb 3rd by IP 86.147.175.# (I won't give the full IP). This could easily be verified by checking the coding of the actual image as no two scans will be exactly the same. If so then I would request that you delete the image from Wikipedia as I hold the copyright of this particular scan of this particular engraving. The fact that the engraving itself is historical and out of copyright does not mean that any images of that engraving are also out of copyright. Copyright exists on reproductions as it does for books etc featuring reproductions of historical images. I realise that the image isn't used anywhere yet other than on A Cornish Pasty's sandbox and so have not deleted the image. It would have been common courtesy to at least ask whether or not it would be okay to use the image. I put a hell of a lot of unpaid hard work into my website and make the information freely available, and have had to pay good money for the material used on the site, and I am not prepared for my copyright material to be used elsewhere without permission.Cornovia 01:32, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- I will delete it, sorry for the inconvenience A Cornish Pasty 12:30, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Truro update
- I've had a short look at Truro, but will look in detail soon. Just out of interest, why did you replace the infobox with the politically neutral one without the flag? I'm not quite sure that we need all the external links too. There is some tidying to be done, but it looks a good improvement. Well done! You also beat me to removing the BT Broadband Call Centre line, I was about to remove that!!
Best wishes,

- Hi and thanks for your feedback, I used that infobox because I figured, whichever one I used someone won't be happy, be it Cornish people not wanting the English flag on it or English people wanting England recognised on it, so in the current one its just the facts and no flags. And I was thinking the same things about the external links too. :-) A Cornish Pasty 17:38, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- What about Cornish people wanting the St George Cross on it...ha! Fair enough. There was a discussion about using flags on infoboxes anyway. Remove them all!!! Mdcollins1984 18:26, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Good idea not having any flag, but I don't think it will last long - apparently there is a committee for wiki infoboxes :-) ! Proposal for the removal of the flag on Cornish town/village infoboxes Gulval 19:18, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] break in template
I have removed this because I have merged all of the Uk city templates into one template Template:UK cities, in which breaks look awkward. Lofty 15:46, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reorganisation of Winodws Live services
Hi there! Great work for attempting to reorganise the entire Windows Live articles! I would just like to comment that don't be too rushed in deleting and merging some of the articles. Rather than that, wouldn't it be better to improve on the articles themselves? By:
- Fill in the missing information in many of the stubs (e.g. Windows Live Expo) - it's definately a worthy article but no one bothered to update them
- Create a more consistent look for all of the Windows Live articles - such as the infobox and the bottom template for list of all Windows Live services
I'd definately not recommend cluttering all those "stubs" into the main Windows Live article. I have been trying to update many of the stub articles (such as Windows Live Favorites) and create new articles that are not stubs (e.g. Windows Live Call) in the past few months, however I have a tight schedules with other works hence any help would be appreciated. Many thanks! Pikablu0530 03:33, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
- Some nice ideas there, you might want to look at [[1]], a template i was working on, but got a bit confused as to what articles were where/relevant/needed so i started suggesting a reorganisation. Although a tad on the big side it shows the broad scope of services --A Cornish Pasty 16:48, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
