A Complicated Plot is an episode of the U.S. television sitcom Yes, Dear.

Greg parents, Tom & Natalie, and Kim & Christine's parents, Don & Jenny, parents are coming for Christmas. Jimmy has a discussion that all grandparents are always trying to compete and that you have the "A" set and the "B" set. Greg says both sets of Sammy grandparents are the "A" set. When he leaves the room Kim tells Christine that their parents are the "A" set. When Greg's parents show up Sammy wants nothing to do with them. Tom gives Sammy a watch, but can't figure out how to set it. Sam soon leaves to get an airplane ride from Don.
Later that night when Greg comes downstairs, Don & Jenny are playing with Sam while his parents are sitting on the couch watching. Greg drags Sam over to play with Tom & Natalie, but he is scared of them. Greg tells Kim that her parents are hogging Sam. Kim tells Greg if his parents wasn't boring, Sam might want to play with them. Greg gives his parents a pep talk and tells them that they are losing because they are the "B" grandparents. Greg comes up with an idea of having Natalie make hot chocolate for Sam while Don reads him Twas the Night before Christmas. When Tom walks into the room, Don has just finished reading the book.
When Sam is getting ready for bed, Tom offers him some peanut brittle and he runs away because he is allergic. Don & Jenny present the Warners and Hughes with their Christmas present, adjacent cemetery plots. Greg is furious and when he is leaving the room accidentally gets electrocuted by a Santa stature. Greg has a vision that he is buried with Jimmy, Christine, Don & Jenny and that Kim remarried. When he wakes up Don agrees that he is was out of line with his gift. The grandparents make up and agree that everyone should be buried together.
