[edit] Synopsis
Faced with being boarded by an approaching Peacekeeper Marauder that has a black ops team on it, John has decided to pretend that Moya (who is unable to starburst due to pregnancy) is the PK prison transport she used to be, in an effort to avoid confrontation with the Marauder crew. He and Aeryn put on PK clothes, D'Argo and Zhaan get behind bars, Rygel hides, and Chiana pretends to be Crichton's mistress. The marauder team is led by Larraq, who has some mysterious something in stasis and needs Moya's help to travel to a secret Gammak research base, since the Marauder is damaged. Greedy Rygel and Chiana are curious about the something and free it from its containment.
It turns out it's an intellent virus--a virus capable of sentient thought that can take over host bodies, and which the PKs want to use as a weapon. The two crews unite to try to capture it before it breeds, while Larraq and Aeryn discover a mutual attraction, and Aeryn contemplates life as a PK. The virus starts picking off Larraq's crew; while John is taken over, he kills Hassan, to his later distress. It ultimately takes over Larraq, stabs Aeryn, and escapes in the damanged Marauder. John blows up the Marauder, for the first time deliberately taking a life. It appears Aeryn will be OK.
