A. Fenton

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A. Fenton. is the presumed collector of the bulk of an interesting lichen collection in the Ulster Museum Herbarium in Northern Ireland.

The collection totals 1016 specimens and is catalogued: Gf4352.1 to Gf4352.1017. Although only the determinor, not the collector, is noted on all the specimens, it may be inferred that in most cases the collector was A. Fenton. Some specimens are clearly marked as collected by R.D. Meikle (1946). Some may have been collected by A.H. Mangusson, they were certainly determined by him. Almost all the specimens have been corrected or determined by M.R.D. Seaward. With only a few exceptions all were collected in Northern Ireland.
