Hi! Short articles are welcome, but single (and incomplete) sentences aren't really articles. As a rule of thumb, a short article should have at least three good, informative sentences. Simply saying "so-and-so is an Assyrian village" is something that a potential user researching the subject already knows. Hope this helps. - Lucky 6.9 06:04, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

And before you ask, no, I am not ethnically Assyrian, and I use "brothers and sisters" in a more spiritual sense. If you are wondering why I do not have the Independent Assyrian template on my user page, it is simply because an Assyrian homeland isn't a viable option, and I don't want more of you killed in Iraq, frankly. Hey there, I need some help tracking down a word of unclear origin. I need to know if Aramaic has the word "ghoul" and what it is. The word exists in arabic as "ghul" with the gutteral "gh" sound like the French "r". The "u" as in the "oo" sound in "woo". The l being...well- like the l sound in just about any language. I suspect the word exists in Aramaic as "gwl" or something equivalent. Even if it does not mean ghoul, if it means anything remotely close to "to seize" or "to retrieve"- it may be the actual origin of the word ghoul and not Arabic or Persian. I understand your reading/writing abilities are slightly impaired, though you probably have greater access to people who know the language than I do. Any bit of help is appreciated, most english language dictionaries cite Persian as the source, sometimes Arabic, never Aramaic. Thanks Angrynight 22:18, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

I corrected your change to the akitu article, and i'd like to explain why. Assyrian new year always occurs on the first day of spring, the vernal equinox. However, this is not set to a specific date, although it usually happens on March 20/21. We call it Kha'b Nisan, becasue nisan was the first month of the calendar. However, a lot assyrians incorrectly assume the month Nisan is synonymous with April, which it is not. Hope all is well and keep up the good work.

Hi! It looks like you're trying to move one or more pages. However, please stop doing that this way - the new name of the page might be good, but Wikipedia has another procedure for moving pages. Look at Help:Renaming (moving) a page: you need to use the move tab, and not cut and paste. Cut and paste moves don't take the edit history with them and thus violate the GDFL copyright terms. Also, in some cases, when the move might be controversial, you might first want to discuss the move on the article's talk page. Please, read MOS:DP before reverting my edits to Nochiya (disambiguation). Where in the manual do you see hyphens in place of commas? Where do you see "in addition may refer to" instead of "may also refer to"? And please, the disambiguation page is intended for things that may be confused with the title, not a general "everything related to" portal-type thing. I.e., Nestorianism in Nochiya would not fit in Nochiya (disambiguation) because nobody would confuse a particular religion in an area with the actual area. If you're looking for "Nochiya", there's a slim chance you're looking for Nestorianism in Nochiya. It's akin to having Islam in Saudi Arabia in a disambiguation page for Saudi Arabia. --334 15:24, 29 September 2006 (UTC)

If there are no solid references, tags will stay. Secundo, there won't be any pages of any "unofficial sub-districts". Wikipedia is not a place for spam.. For official administrative sub-divisions of countries, the maps of that country are a basis, however remember that: a) official names are to be used and b) if there are claims of "unofficial" subdistricts, they have to sourced by solid and hard-rock evidences, along with arguments as to why they should have a seperate article instead of being merged to the relevant article of the official administrative sub-division. This article will either be AfDed speedily for spam, or merged to the Semdinli article pretty soon. Wikipedia is not a forum, blog or a toy, please keep that in mind and watch for civility. Wrong.. Please watch for civility, don't assume and keep the accusations to a minimum. The only reason I am marking that article is there are not enough references. I have dropped the ref tag, and put an OR tag instead. You have also created many articles that have absolutely no sources or about towns that do not exist. I have pointed this out to you before. If you wish, you can contact other admins that know me to ask them if I am a "filthy genocide-denying vandal". I will ask you again to watch for civility. The article doesn't have neccessary sources and is not written with a formal encyclopedic tone. Simple. I just launched the Wikipedia:Greek and Turkish wikipedians cooperation board, so spare me the nationalist accusations. There won't be any articles about non-existent towns, or without sources. I am also checking into the images that you have uploaded where you claimed to have owned all of them. If you do not own those images but claimed to do so simply to escape copyright limitations of Wiki, that is a very serious problem. I am checking into all the images that you have uploaded, and it seems to good of a coincidence that you own (not simply have access to: to own implies that you either took the photo, or commissioned for it to be taken) so many rare photographs, some dating back 60 years. I will compile all of them in the upcoming days. I hope that you have been respecting Wikipedia's rules, otherwise that can be a ground for long blocks and bans since allowing Wikipedia the possibility to face copyright violation litigation is a serious issue. Baristarim, as wierd as it sounds, yes these pics are his. He belongs to the Saint Mar Yosip Khnanisho X family and while he did not take all those pics, they are his since his father/grandfather have taken the pics. I have watched your comments lately and I feel like your seem to be always on the offense when you talk about Assyrian issues. I just thought of something.. Is that article from that magazine that you sourced all throughout the article? If that's the case, can you provide an accessible link please? I am not sure if you noticed it, but that article doesn't have a very good encycylopedic tone.

Chaldean, my problem is not the articles themselves, but their large claims and weird tones. He created many articles about unofficial districts and villages in Turkey, and I had a very hard time sorting them out correctly. He used posts at random forums to back up some of his claims, and I am talking about forums in which he was involved in.. If you look carefully, he has been bending the rules to a breaking point to include what he wants at all costs. That's not cool either. I am aware of systemic bias, but you should seriously take a look at some of the articles he has written - they are a mess and nothing but self-promotion Baristarim 22:31, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
