[edit] Table or not table ?

Sorry to bring the question again, but I am really puzzled about this; most articles I have seen on any vehicle tend to have tables, or get "infotablised". Besides, what would be the drawback of having a table, compared to the section/subsection system ?

The table has qualities: it is more compact, presents both general informations and technical informations at the top of the page, and only uses a vertical space which is already taken by the main photograph.

What are the inconvenients ? Rama 11:41, 26 Jan 2005 (UTC)

I also tended to be in favour of the table format at first, but it creates difficulties in terms of formatting for different browsers and smaller screens as well as being a hassle each time the style of Wikipedia is changed. It is for this reason, as well as making it easier to edit, that the participants of the Aircraft WikiProject decided to adopt the present format (which is also similar to the standard used by Jane's). The discussion which led to the change can be seen here. Impi 13:05, 26 Jan 2005 (UTC)
pfff... I wish people could stop using crapy browsers :p In the absolute, I think it's quite clear that this is precisely the kind of data for which tables are designed; but well, if there's an implementation problem, I'll leave the matter to experts :p Thanks and cheers !
