[edit] Your comments on Template talk:In the news
Listen, I don't know what your beef is with me, but I find your failure to assume good faith quite offensive. I'm sorry that I didn't respond to your comment earlier, but as I said I honestly didn't notice it until after the item was off of ITN. If you think it would be productive to continue to discuss the issue of the ITN entry on the Turkmenistan election, we can continue to do so, but personal comments and insinuations won't help anything. If you have some problem with my behavior on Wikipedia, let's discuss it here or on my user talk page. If you have a substantial comment about ITN, we can discuss it there. But let's stop the grade-school sniping, shall we? Thanks. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 05:38, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Don't take it so personally; I just wanted to probe the reasons you put it on ITN. --90.240.102.48 16:33, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- I didn't have any problem with your question. I did have a problem with your insinuation that my failure to respond was a deliberate tactic. For the record, I put the item up because I thought it was news of international interest. I have no particular agenda concerning Turkmenistan. As I said on the ITN talk page, my sole reason for mentioning the ICG's view of the election was that I thought that it would be a violation of NPOV to put "Berdimuhommedow was elected" without any qualifications about the nature of the "election". You may disagree — that's fine. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 16:42, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Civility
Please remain civil in your comments about other editors. The comment in this edit summary is needlessly combative and rude. You are welcome to discuss the content of the article in edit summaries or on the article's talk page, but disparaging comments about your fellow editors are not welcome. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 05:43, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 1950s style
I just thought that "1950s-style" was misleading, given the replacement of the light with a CCTV camera. I suppose it's debatable how major an alteration that is to the Mackenzie Trench design. If you want to discuss it at Talk:Police box, we can. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 17:18, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
- Well, the discussion might possibly be of interest to other editors of the article, and they may have perspectives that are useful. I have some thoughts, but I'll discuss them at Talk:Police box. —Josiah Rowe (talk • contribs) 05:20, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
