[edit] Blocked
I don't show any blocks on this IP address. What is your regular username? | Mr. Darcy talk 15:43, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- If you're referring to the Embraer articles, then what you were doing is vandalism, and you were blocked because you refused to stop even when you were warned. If that's not you, let me know. If you're willing to stop deleting content and putting in unwanted redirects, we can discuss an unblock. | Mr. Darcy talk 17:35, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- In response to your comments on my userpage, no, what you were doing was not helpful. You were deleting content and creating redirects that weren't wanted. In fact, I didn't undo your changes - I just stopped you from continuing. And if you vandalize those articles again, I'll block your entire IP range to prevent you from doing so. | Mr. Darcy talk 22:54, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- The #1 problem is that you were creating pointless redirects and moving redirects around while ignoring the Manual of Style's rules on capitalization. When others reverted your changes, you reverted back. When you were asked to stop, you did it again anyway. That's not acceptable behavior on Wikipedia. When you move a redirect page, you create "double redirects" - one link points to a redirect page, which points to another redirect page - something to be avoided. We also have rules on article titles, and the lowercase "f" in family is the appropriate style for the titles of those articles. Making a huge set of changes like that when several established, registered users are telling you not to is considered vandalism. I hope that answers your question. | Mr. Darcy talk 23:07, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
- Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism. Your first attempt to change all those links and redirects was innocent. When others told you to stop and reverted your changes, your repeated edits were no longer good-faith efforts. This is a very simple problem to solve: Don't do it again. Right now you're not blocked and are free to go back to making productive edits. All we ask is that you stop the sort of redirect-mania and link-breaking that you engaged in over the last two days. | Mr. Darcy talk 23:09, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] from User:Clawson
Despite your assertions to the contrary on MrDarcy's talk page, what you were doing was in no way helpful. It took another Wikipedian and I the better part of two hours to clean up the mess you created. As far as I'm concerned, you can stay blocked forever, but I'm rather less forgiving than the admin types around here, so maybe if you're lucky someone will have pity on you. Be forewarned, however, that if you persist with your previous behaviour, I will do everything in my power to ensure you are unable to destroy other people's hard work on this site ever again. Is that clear?--chris.lawson 22:05, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
You created a giant mess, and you were in the process of destroying the hard work I put in FIXING your mess when MrDarcy blocked you. You argued on my Talk page that it is harder to pipe a link (to avoid the redirect) than it is to simply link the words. This is arguably true, but that isn't what you were doing. You were removing the piping on literally hundreds of links, improperly blanking and redirecting pages without discussion, etc. That's vandalism. The "I'm new here" excuse is just that -- an excuse. It is not a get-out-of-jail-free card, nor is it carte blanche to do whatever you want and then play the innocent newcomer. You are expected to conform to certain standards of behaviour and editing guidelines if you wish to be a contributor here, and if you cannot do that, your tenure as a contributor will be deservedly short.--chris.lawson 23:01, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

No more editing comments made by other users. It is their responsibility. Plus, I will be watching you and your edits because of what you did to all of the Embraer-related articles under your previous IP of 89.241.213.42. —Joseph/N328KF (Talk) 00:53, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
