==Andy Murray page - battle to get top billing with MurraysWorld

Hello Anonymous person making changes to the Andrew Murray (tennis player) page. Please could you exp,ain why you've moved the link to the fansite MurraysWorld to the bottom of the list of fansites on the page. I want to help you and the Murraysworld people come to some agreement on how to present the fansites list on the page, as it's making the wiki page look unprofessional, and causiong a lot of frustration to both them, and I assume you.

I'm sure your energies would be much better spent in developing the wiki page into the best tennis player page on the site (for example by improving the report on Andy's campaign at Nottingham this week) than in this endless battle with Murraysworld.

I've reverted your changes, but would be interersted to hear your reasons for making the changes and why they are in the interests of readers of the page. I've made some suggestions on the discussion pages as to how the battle between andymurraytennis.org and murraysworld.com might be resolved.

Mark from Murraysworld has come to the talk page to discuss the issues. It'd be great if you could come & help work this out also.

Reply: I've changed it because I think that andymurraytennis.org and it's activeboard messageboard are by far and away the best Murray and British tennis sites on the web. I think that it's in the best interest of wiki readers to be directed to the best site on the web for Murray news. If you look at murraysworld, the majority of the discussion is non-tennis and just seems to be schoolfriends chatting like on msn. Surely, the best "tennis site" for murray news should be at the top of the list.
Thank you so much for replying. I agree that you are supporting two very fine fan sites, and that it must be very frustrating for you to see the sites that you are supporting being moved from where you feel they should be on the list. I post to the activeboard messageboard myself, and really appreciate the great community there. Someone who is as passionate about Andy as you obviously are, will have a great deal to offer on the page, and while you're engaged in a neverending battle with Mark, you won't have the opportunity to do so. That's a shame, as I'm looking forward to seeing you help make this page the best.
I'm confused as to why you've taken down the link to andymurraytennis.org. If it wasn't you, then it was another person who seems to want to promote andymurraytennis.org and the activeboard forum over murraysworld. The change happened in this edit: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Andrew_Murray_%28tennis_player%29&diff=next&oldid=60046006, which was done by User talk:86.17.155.31, who I have assumed was you.
I'd really appreciate it if you would consider posting to the talk page on the Andrew Murray page, so that all other editors there can know your point of view and can work with you to find a solution to this issue. To show good faith, it would really help if you created an account and logged onto wikipedia to make your views known. - when you make a comment on a talk page, you can sign it by placing four tildes (~~~~)after your contribution.
To reach a resolution of this issue (and I assume it's frustrating you as much as it is me - and by the looks of it Mark from Murraysworld), the best way forward would be for you and Mark to reach an agreement of what would be an acceptable solution for both of you. If that's not possible, we could arrange for those who contribute to the page to come to a consensus, and if that is not possible, there are various further steps we can take to resolve the dispute, see: Wikipedia:Resolving disputes. Whatever happens, I hope you and Mark can discuss this calmly, and not just see each other as "the enemy",
I've put your reply, above, onto the talk page. I'd also suggest that you move murraysworld back to or near the top of the list as soon as possible, to show that you're keen to help Andy Murray fans find good fan sites, rather than to harm the murraysworld site.
sorry for the essay :-) RobbieC 15:36, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
