In Ustase, next to the sentence saying that Croats are Slavs, you wrote:

croats are not of slavic origin but Illyrian and germanic. Some claim they are of Iranian origin so this information is incorrect. The only thing slavic about the croats is their language. http://www.iranchamber.com/history/articles/common_origin_croats_serbs_jats.php
Would be nice to see a valid source for this statement since the croats are only slavs by language and not blood. This article is full of errors but when correcting it the article is soon set do default again, strange

Please see just about *any* study about the origins of Croats and Serbs and you will only find vague etymological/philological links to the Alans. The recent DNA analyses show a marginal distinction from other nearby peoples that could be due to mixing with the Illyrians, but there's really little to indicate anything for sure.

In any event, this discussion belongs to Talk:Croats, after it's settled there then we can propagate it to the Ustaše page. --Joy [shallot] 18:33, 4 Apr 2005 (UTC)

That is old propaganda that croats would be slavs. This is taken for granted just because they once happened to be part of the union called Yugoslavia. Recent studies start to show that croats are not indeed slavs. They settled in the area long before the slavs even came to the balkans. So the only thing slavic about the croats is their language. Please note that croats and serbs are not of the same origin. Anyone can see that the appearance of these two people are different with the serbs being a lot darker for example.

I refuse to see such lies being presented to the people when modern day scientists are certain croats are not of slav origin.

The nazis did not see the croats as slavs either, that is wrong information. My grandfather fought for the ustashe during ww2 and came in contact with high ranking germans and he rejects this information as being false.

Please provide some references for this, otherwise it's just an assertion for the rest of the world. Also, you could pick a nickname and log in. Thanks. --Joy [shallot] 09:48, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hello!

You are asking for a referens for my statement regardig the croats but I have been asking for a referens all along about the statement in the article that claims there was a problem with the croats being inferior and slavic in the eyes of the german nazis. I have never heard such thing and yet my grandfather was part of the Ustashe. According to him there never was a problem like this and I have never heard it anywhere else.

Himmler was sure the croats was of aryan (gothic) heritage, it even says so in the same article but then further down suddenly someone writes Himmler only made this up and that the croats were inferior. That is incorrect.

The croats are not slavic which is something the scientists of today are very sure of, but people seem very ignorant about this just because croats speak a slavic language and because they have been part of Jugoslavia (only for about 50 years).

If you want a referens you could start by reading Munoz book "For christ and Croatia - Croatia during the second world war".

There are also a number of nazi documents about Pavelic and the croat army and NON of them show any signs about the nazis claiming the croats being inferior or slavic.

Also read Antony Beevors book "Stalingrad". In the book he explains how the germans looked up to the croat "freiwillige" in Stalingrad and how well they fought. Nothing tells us the nazis saw the croats as inferior.

So please, remove this lie from the article. There is also a number of other things in the article that is incorrect but I will get to that as soon as this thing is settled.
