[edit] Abi Titmuss

You said: "Yamla, I'm Anna, one of Abi's assistants - totallytitmuss.com IS her official website. Why do you keep removing it?"

I'm sorry, my understanding was that this web site was a well-established fake. However, taking a look at the site, it seems reasonable to believe that it is the real official site. In that case, you have my apologies. I was acting in good faith to ensure that the page was only linking to official sites. While I have you on the line, is there any way we could get a freely-licensed (different from no-cost) image to use to depict Titmuss? I think this would improve the article. I can explain the requirements if you think you may be able to help out. --Yamla 15:46, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Of course - tell me what you are looking for (size / style etc.) and I will get one posted. Abi owns the rights to a lot of her photos and would be more than happy to have one on this page. Is it ok for me to change the text on the page as well? Some of it is very inaccurate in the light of Abi's most recent interview.

Thanks.

Anna

As a general rule, we tend to discourage people from editing their own articles as it is very hard to maintain neutrality. However, if you can cite your changes (see WP:V and WP:CITE), you are quite welcome to do so. It is important that any change you make is verifiable, however. Let me restate this. It is not sufficient for a change that you introduce to be true, we must also be able to check that it is true. I can explain why this is the case if you want. As to the picture, we'd really like one that shows off Titmuss on her page. However, more important is the license it is under. You can skip reading WP:FUC, but the gist of it is that a public domain image would be best. That is, one that is not protected by copyright. So, for example, one that you have taken of Titmuss and which you release to the public domain. There are other acceptable licenses but the way point is that you and/or Titmuss would be giving up certain legal rights to the image. Again, I'm happy to go into more detail and to work with you to choose a license acceptable to you (and an appropriate image). Please feel free to contact me by email (go to [[User:Yamla|my user page) and click on the "email user" button on the task bar on the left side of your browser) if you'd like to work out an appropriate image and all the licensing details. --Yamla 16:36, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
