[edit] Greystones
Dude your not even from Greystones, you know nothing about the place... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.70.214.43 (talk • contribs) 14:13, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
- It is not relevant where I am from, what matters is that information added must have a reliable source as verifiaction. Adding information from personal experience is classed as original research and is not allowed at wikipedia. Also adding your own opinions on a topic also classed as original research. There is nothing wrong with adding critical information, but the information must be cited, e.g. "Person A said X, in the irish times on Y day", but simply saying "this is X" is not acceptable, and will be removed, as you have seen. If you are from Greystones, you should have an advantage of having access to a large supply of news references, being that it's topical, and you are more than welcome to add reports from reliable sources (see WP:RS for what is classed as one), but uncited opinion will continue to be removed. - See also WP:NOT#Wikipedia_is_not_a_publisher_of_original_thought where it mentioned that wikipedia is not the platform for expressing opinions on current affairs. Regards, MartinRe 15:13, 8 June 2006 (UTC)
