826CHI

826CHI is a nonprofit organization located in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Services are structured around the belief that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention, and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success.
826CHI opened in October 2005. It opened The Boring Store, a shop that sells spy-themed supplies, in February 2007.
826CHI is a member of 826 National, which also operates chapters in San Francisco (826 Valencia), New York City (826NYC), Seattle (826 Seattle), Los Angeles (826LA), and Ann Arbor (826 Michigan).
